Malay cuisine // ayam masak merah - simple!!

Hi all.. As for today’s brunch - our breakfast and lunch, I cooked “ayam masak merah” well… just a simple one…
as usual the hubby helped me with chopping the whole chicken into parts. Thank you very much.

Hehe the result was scrumptious… I like it and so did the hubby! And that’s nothing else matter coz this wife of his is absolutely happy when her hubby enjoyed her cooking’s... hehe :)
Anyway, Im happy to share ya’ll the recipe... enjoy and happy trying!


AYAM MASAK MERAH

What you need is:

A one whole chicken and cut it into parts.

(z) Ingredients / to be blended in a food food-processor:

3 cm of ginger

8 pieces of shallots

4 pieces of garlic

Other ingredients:

1 cup of chili sauce – I use maggi brand

½ cup of tomato sauce – maggi brand

1 table spoon of vinegar – I use limau kasturi juice

1 table spoon of sugar

Salt to taste

Preparation

Step 1: marinate the chicken parts with salt and kasturi juice.

Leave it for at least 5 minutes. Fry up when it is ready. Set aside.


Step2: In hot pan, fry all ingredients (z) until it is slightly dried up… then add chili sauce and tomato sauce, add a little bit of water, add chicken and boiled it up until it looks gravy & cooked! Wala!!


AYAM MASAK MERAH – is a Malay cuisine. Usually to be served to guests in a Malay wedding ceremony, Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebration and any other special occasion!
